We’re incredibly lucky to have some brilliant people in our community who choose to use their time, energy and influence to support our hospitals, and Charlotte Lister is a wonderful example of that.
Charlotte is CSR & Partnerships Manager for the Crown Bawtry Collection, Project Coordinator at North Notts BID and, proudly, Ms Nottinghamshire GB 2026.
Across all of those roles, one thing comes through very clearly: Charlotte cares deeply about bringing people together and using the opportunities she has to make a positive difference.
“Pageantry has never just been about putting on a crown and a beautiful dress,” she said. “It’s about what you can do with the platform that comes with it.”
That is something Charlotte has truly embraced.
Over the years, she has supported a wide range of causes, raising more than £8,000 through Race for Life, fundraising for Samaritans, volunteering with the RSPCA and Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, and helping to deliver breast cancer awareness campaigns which have raised more than £26,000 across three years.
She is also Project Lead for Doncaster for the Baton of Hope Tour 2027.
Supporting our Hospitals
Charlotte’s support for Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals began through the community work of the Crown Bawtry Collection.
For the past two years, the organisation has supported the Christmas toy appeal alongside Doncaster Rovers Football Club, helping to collect gifts for children spending Christmas in hospital.
Since then, Charlotte’s support for our hospitals has continued to grow, and we’re delighted that she is now finding even more ways to get involved with Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity.
For Charlotte, that support is personal too.
“I’ve personally experienced being unexpectedly admitted to hospital and spending a week as an inpatient, so I know what it feels like when your normal life suddenly stops and you find yourself relying on the people around you for your care,” she said.
“That experience gave me an even greater appreciation for NHS staff, but also for those little extras that can make a difficult or frightening time that bit easier for patients and their families.”
It is those extra touches that charitable support can help provide, and we’re so grateful to Charlotte for choosing to use her platform to help us make those moments possible.

Making Christmas brighter
Christmas is an especially busy time for Charlotte, but it’s also one when her support for local causes really shines.
This year, the Crown Bawtry Collection will once again support the Pass the Parcel campaign with Doncaster Rovers and Pass Logistics, acting as a toy donation point for gifts for children in hospital over Christmas.
Charlotte has also helped bring Worksop College on board again this year, extending an existing partnership into support for the wider community.
And we’re especially pleased that Charlotte will also be supporting our Shining Stars campaign this Christmas.
“Christmas can be such a magical time, but there are also children, adults and families who will be spending it in hospital, as well as NHS staff giving up time with their own families to care for them,” Charlotte said.
“If I can use my different roles, contacts and platforms to bring businesses and communities together and help make Christmas a little brighter for them, then that’s something I’m incredibly proud to do.”
We’re incredibly grateful to Charlotte for championing our Charity and helping us reach even more people across our communities.
Inspiring others to get involved
One of the things we love most about Charlotte’s approach is her belief that making a difference doesn’t have to begin with something huge.
“People sometimes think fundraising means organising a massive event or raising thousands of pounds, but it can start with something really simple,” she said.
“You could organise something at work, take part in a challenge, volunteer your time, make a donation or even help share the charity’s message.
“One person doing one small thing might not feel enormous, but when hundreds of people across Doncaster and Bassetlaw all do their small thing, suddenly you’ve created something really powerful.”
With the Ms Great Britain finals, further charity campaigns, the Baton of Hope Tour and Christmas all ahead, Charlotte has plenty to look forward to.
And we’re so pleased that supporting our hospitals will continue to be part of that journey.
“It all links back to the same thing for me – using the opportunities and platforms I have to do something positive with them.”
Thank you, Charlotte, for everything you’re doing to support our Charity, our hospitals and the communities we serve.
