Frequently Asked Questions
Who can play the lottery?
To enter our weekly lottery you must be aged 18 or over and live in Great Britain
How does the lottery work?
Each entry into the lottery costs £1 per week (£5 / £10 monthly Direct Debit per entry) and you can play up to five entries per week for the chance to win one of our amazing cash prizes.
Once you have joined, you will receive a welcome message via text, shortly followed by your direct debit mandate via email. Once this has been setup with your bank, you will then receive your 6 digit unique lottery numbers and confirmation of the date you will be entered into your first draw. If you do not receive this email, please contact us on dbth.charity@nhs.net for your numbers.
Each six-digit game Number is unique to each individual chance purchased.
No participant can purchase more than 10 tickets per week.
All ticket (entry) sales are final and no refunds shall be made at any time.
Direct Debit payments are taken one month in advance, and take a minimum of 14 days to process; you will be entered into the first available draw after the collection has been made from your bank account. You will be notified of your first draw date by email or post.
My circumstances have changed, how do I cancel?
If you no longer wish to play the lottery, you can cancel the Direct Debit at any time by simply contacting your bank or building society. Alternatively you can also contact us on dbth.charity@nhs.net or by calling us on 01302 648282 and we will cancel your lottery subscription.
Do you operate door to door collections?
Please note that we do not operate door-to-door collections as a means of fundraising and do not employ canvassers to visit home addresses to secure hospital lottery players.
Those canvassing for donations to charities are required to have a licence to operate such collections from the appropriate local authority which should be available to view upon request, have clearly visible ID and be clearly recognisable as representing the charity through their clothing and collection box. If in any doubt the request should be refused and the conversation ended. Any concerns should be reported to the police as appropriate.
How do I make a complaint?
If you would like to make a complaint or have a concern regarding the Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity Lottery, please contact us on dbth.charity@nhs.net or call us on 01302 648282.
