Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity invites you to donate and dedicate a star on Bassetlaw Hospital or Doncaster Royal Infirmary to celebrate and remember your loved ones or recognise your NHS Heroes this Christmas.

Our Shining Stars is a real and digital lighting display, where we put star lights across our hospital buildings and online. 

For the last two years, Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity have put LED star lights across our hospitals to help raise vital funds for our hospital charity through our, Our Shining Stars appeal.

Many of the stars are sponsored by local businesses, schools and community groups but many are also sponsored by local families and individuals in memory of their loved ones.

We know the sponsorship asks of the main star lights aren’t suitable for everyone but unfortunately due to the costs involved of the physical star lights we’re unable to reduce the costs. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to find a light which provides everyone the opportunity to be part of the Our Shining Stars Appeal and we’re delighted that with the help with our friends at PA Entertainments, we’ve found an amazing way for everyone to dedicate a star.  

For one night only, stars will be projected on Bassetlaw Hospital and Doncaster Royal Infirmary alongside our main star lights in memory of those who are no longer with us or to recognise an NHS staff member or department who went above and beyond for you.

Your Shining Star

You are invited to dedicate a shining star in memory of your loved ones or in recognition of someone or a group of people you want to show appreciation to for a donation of your choice to Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity. 

Your Shining Star will be projected onto our hospitals during our special switch on events (dates TBC) and will shine proudly for one night only alongside our main LED Star lights. Our virtual star sky will then remain open throughout the festive period where you can continue to visit your star online. 

All of the messages that have been dedicated using our virtual star sky by Friday 2^nd December, will be displayed on a board at our special switch on events.

Dedicate a physical star light

Alongside our star light projections, we will also have 40 LED star lights which will shine brightly at Doncaster Royal Infirmary, Bassetlaw Hospital or Montagu Hospital throughout the duration of the festive season.
