WHO CAN PLAY THE WEEKLY LOTTERY?
The minimum age requirement to play our lottery is 18 and you must live in Great Britain. Unfortunately, we are not licensed to accept entries from Northern Ireland, The Channel Islands or the Isle of Man.

HOW DOES THE LOTTERY WORK
Simply enter by completing our sign-up form. Each entry into the lottery costs £1 per ticket (£5 a month for five draws) and you can play up to two entries per week for the chance to win one of our fantastic cash prizes.

Winners are selected by random number generator draw software every Saturday evening.
The weekly prizes are:

    • Match six numbers: £25,000
    • Match five numbers: £1,000
    • Match four numbers: £100
    • Match three numbers: £10

All the money generated from the lottery goes to Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity supporting your local hospitals. A proportion goes towards covering our operational and fundraising costs, including prizes.

CAN I GIFT AID MY LOTTERY DONATION?
Unfortunately we can’t Gift Aid lottery payments as by law your entry fee into a lottery draw is classed as a purchase rather than a charitable gift. As there will hopefully be something you receive in return i.e. a lottery win, it is not considered eligible for Gift Aid. However, rest assured that your lottery entry will still go towards supporting your hospital charity.

HOW ARE PRIZES SELECTED?
The draw takes place every Saturday and results are published every Saturday at 17:45 GMT on our website here.

The winning number for each weekly prize draw shall be drawn using a random number generator to determine the winner(s). The generator has been tested and approved by an independent, Gambling Commission-approved, third-party test house.

HOW WILL I KNOW IF I’VE WON?
We will notify you by phone or email within 14 days of the draw date. A list of winners will be published every week on our website. The additional weekly draws (in months with only four Fridays) will be published on Wednesdays at 17:45 GMT on the website.

Weekly lottery results and winners

If you have won, your prize will be issued by cheque or BACS so there is no need to do a thing. Please remember to notify us of any address changes so you receive your prize without any delays. You can notify us of any changes by contacting us at dbth.charity@nhs.net or by calling 01302 648 282.

As part of our commitment to responsible gambling, we only allow any one person to purchase a maximum of two tickets per week.Read more in our social responsibility guidelines.

We realise that sometimes we might get it wrong and we truly value all feedback about our work. We believe that complaints are an opportunity to learn and improve and it is important that you tell us so we can deal with any situation as quickly as possible.

I’VE SPOKEN TO A FUNDRAISER ABOUT THE WEEKLY LOTTERY, IS THIS LEGITIMATE?
We do have fundraisers working on behalf of Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity to sign up players for the weekly lottery. The fundraisers working in your hospitals will always wear branded ID badges and be wearing a yellow or orange branded top.

If you have entered into our lottery and would like to self-exclude yourself from future draws due to problems with gambling, please contact us on dbth.charity@nhs.net
By completing this form, you will be excluded from gambling related products and activities from Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity which will include all gambling related communications.  
Your self-exclusion from Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity Raffles and Lotteries is automatically a permanent arrangement and will be available with immediate effect. Should you wish to start playing again we would need your request in writing, which would be followed by a phone call or in person meeting. However, there is a minimum period of self-exclusion of 6 months, and by Law we cannot remove your self-exclusion status before 6 months has lapsed. Should you have any current entries, these will be cancelled, and money already allocated to future draws will be refunded to you.

By entering the Lottery you agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not wish to be bound by these Terms then you must not enter the Lottery.

This Lottery is promoted and operated by Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity (UK Registered Charity Number 1057917) (“the Society”). Registered office: Communications Office, Doncaster Royal Infirmary, Armthorpe Road, Doncaster, DN2 5LT. Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity is licensed by Doncaster MBC – LN/202200467 to promote and operate the Lottery in accordance with the provisions of the Gambling Act 2005. Responsible person: Adrian Petts, Head of Charity, Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity.

The Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity lottery is operated by The Fundraising Foundry Ltd, an External Lottery Manager (ELM) licensed by the Gambling Commission, account number 57455. The Fundraising Foundry is a company registered in England and Wales with company number 12391987 and whose registered address is 157 Bedford Road, Letchworth Garden City, UK, SG6 4DY.

Your Agreement is with The Fundraising Foundry. However, Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity shall be entitled to enforce any of these Terms and Conditions.

Direct Debit Guarantee
This guarantee is offered by all banks and building societies that accept instructions to pay Direct Debits.
If there are any changes to the amount, date or frequency of your Direct Debit, Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity will notify you 10 working days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed. If you request Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity to collect a payment, confirmation of the amount and date will be given to you at the time of the request.
If an error is made in the payment of your Direct Debit by Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity or your bank or building society, you are entitled to a full and immediate refund of the amount paid from your bank or building society.
If you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity asks you to.
You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by simply contacting your bank or building society. Written confirmation may also be required. Please also notify us at dbth.charity@nhs.net or on 01302 648282.
Complaints Procedure

  • All complaints regarding our raffles and lotteries can be made directly to the Society by contacting us at  contacting us at dbth.charity@nhs.net or on 01302 648282.
  • A response to the initial complaint or query will be provided within two working days of receipt of the complaint or query. We will respond in full to your complaint within eight weeks of receiving it.
  • If the complaint is not satisfactorily resolved, the matter will be escalated in accordance with this policy.
  • Each complaint will be taken seriously and fully investigated in order that a satisfactory resolution can be achieved.
  • In the event that a satisfactory outcome has not been reached, in accordance with the agreed protocol arranged on behalf of members by the Lotteries Council the complaint will be referred to The Independent Betting Adjudication Service (IBAS), which acts as an impartial adjudicator on disputes that arise between gambling operators and their customers.
  • The individual who raised the complaint will be provided with IBAS referral details – The outcome of the IBAS intervention will be reported to the Gambling Commission.
  • Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity is also required to report any complaints received to the Charity Commission on an annual basis.
My circumstances have changed, how do I cancel?

If you no longer wish to play the lottery, you can cancel the Direct Debit at any time by simply contacting your bank or building society. Alternatively you can also contact us on dbth.charity@nhs.net or by calling us on 01302 648282 and we will cancel your lottery subscription. 

Do you operate door to door collections?

Please note that we do not operate door-to-door collections as a means of fundraising and do not employ canvassers to visit home addresses to secure hospital lottery players.
 
Those canvassing for donations to charities are required to have a licence to operate such collections from the appropriate local authority which should be available to view upon request, have clearly visible ID and be clearly recognisable as representing the charity through their clothing and collection box.  If in any doubt the request should be refused and the conversation ended. Any concerns should be reported to the police as appropriate.
